Pompano Beach, FL – On Saturday, June 6th, 8 employees from ATC, along with a few friends and family members, volunteered to work at The 27th Annual Ladies Fish Off. This year there were 44 boats entered with a total of 116 anglers that raised $19,272 for our local Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House provides an inexpensive and comfortable place to stay near the hospital to families with sick children receiving treatment. Each house is available to any family after a referral is authorized by a nurse, social worker or doctor involved in the patients care. This was ATC’s second year volunteering for this event and we enjoyed all the various tasks that went along with it, from setting-up and breaking down the staging area, greeting the anglers as they checked in, assisting in off-loading the fish, weighing the fish and also providing food and refreshments to the anglers.

Coral Springs, FL- On Saturday, March 3rd, 22 employee’s from ATC volunteered to help Victory Living Programs with their Special Olympics Event. Victory Living Programs, Inc. provides guidance, training and other necessary assistance to individuals with disabilities to help them become included, productive and contributing members of their communities. Each volunteer was teamed up with an individual with a disability to help encourage and guide them through the activities. One of the volunteers, Mike was teamed up with Chris, a familiar face that he often would see on his route to work, prior to that day. Since the event, they have fashioned a great friendship with each other by meeting up for lunch a number of times. This special connection exemplifies how the Special Olympics can have such strong and positive results for anyone that is involved.
